'On-air' light system
DESCRIPTION
This classic 'on-air' light system gives a clear indication
to station staff that the microphone is live. It is designed
to be placed just outside the studio to prevent unwanted
intrusions during links!
The system is self contained and is designed to directly
connect to studio desks which have mic switching circuitry
- The majority of professional studio desks are fitted
with a function which closes a set on contacts when microphone
channels are opened. These can be used to directly control
this type of on air light.
The system is based on the Canford Audio Type B unit which
incorporates the mains switching facility into the base
of the light fitting eliminating the need for additional
opto switching. Simply plug the light unit into a suitable
13A Socket and run the control cable to your mixing desk.
The control cable is fitted with a DIN 5 connector. Shorting
Pins 1 & 2 will cause the light to illuminate. Radiquip
can often supply jumper leads to integrate the system
with common studio desks. Please ask for details.
